18 dead in fresh herdsmen attack in Adamawa village

18 persons have been confirmed dead while several others were seriously injured in an attack on Dowayan village in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa state last night.
According to residents of the community, the herdsmen struck at about 8pm, attacking the villagers. Several houses were burnt and properties destroyed.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Othman Abubakar, said he is yet to receive any information about the attack. Adamawa state has recorded many attacks on communities by suspected herdsmen.
